Ranged combat, like sniper fire, is only different from face to face fighting. It is still a task resolution process. However, an unaware victim is not consulted, they are represented by the gamemaster, who will then inform the victim of the result of the combat. Of course, a more direct physical confrontation will probably ensue afterwards.

Stop that! It hurts!
These rules are deadly, and even the best-trained characters get hurt. Ambush, surprise, and a sound tactical plan will make a difference but not guarantee you escape harm free. There is no long protracted time to consider options. Gamemasters will give participants to the count of five to answer and then move on. When combat occurs, it explodes into immediate fury and all combat action is done quickly.

Gamemasters will caution any players doing any unsafe acts during combat – anyone ignoring these warnings is “incapacitated” and removed from play. A pair of gamemasters and a player advocate will then counsel the offending player. Physical positioning, movement, and verbal keywords are very important in the combat resolution system. Follow these simple guidelines –

- Do not move when the Freeze call is made at the start of combat. Huddle into the circle at the appropriate time.
- Describe what your character is doing when the gamemaster ask, using simple words, in a short sentence. If you need to clarify something,
_then say precisely that - “ I need to clarify ….”
- Concentrate on resolving the combat scene. Focus your efforts towards getting it over with. Don’t distract other, nor let them distract you.

When a combat occurs, there must be a Call for Freeze. All players in the vicinity must stop moving and wait for the gamemaster to brief them. The Gamemaster will ask everyone present who wants to leave to choose an Advocate for his or her character. The Gamemaster may also call for more Gamemasters, or some may leave when there are multiple Gamemasters present.
All the players remaining them huddle together in a circle. Together they follow the standard task resolution process.
