NPC’s for Gm use only
There are no non-player characters (NPC’s) played by anyone other than
a gamemaster. If a Gm portrays a character, it is never available to be played.
Also, such NPC’s are not the focus of any game session. They serve only
to support the story. An NPC is a tool or less important character whose role
is to help build the milieu or delivers necessary information to major characters.
NPC’s come and go quickly, so that they do not attain an importance that
rivals player characters in the overall storyline.
Extra’s
Some characters can only be played in a single session. This is usually due
to the historical epoch not being played more than once. These one-shot characters
are called “Extra’s”. Such characters can be played by anyone
other than a gamemaster. They are ideal roles to introduce new players to the
campaign. During some sessions, some players may choose not to play their regular
incarnating Nephilim character. When this happens the player can choose to play
an “Extra” role. In fact, many of the characters being played in
a historical epoch will be Extras.
Quality over frequency
The time to prepare and run the game is a critical factor in the frequency of
sessions. No game session will be run if the writers and editors perceive it
to be of inadequate quality. All players can be assured that the designers are
focused on producing quality rather than quantity of sessions. Game sessions
will vary in length and may run over two subsequent days. Some stories are better
told in more time.
Fixed sessions customer price
The time of a session will be as advertised. The game will start at the listed
time, and finish at the listed time. The venue of the game may vary, but no
expensive venue will be selected if it can be helped. Players will never pay
a higher cost to play a given session to cover venue costs. A standard price
will be charged to every player, whether they play an extra or regular character
in a given session. All prices will be reviewed every year in January.
