The Laws
of Justice.
Orlando's take on Justice is heavily influenced by his continued incarnation
into the same bloodline who all share similar views. He is influenced
by human concepts of rights and Justice. Orlando has also seen the way
that Justice can be corrupted by political interests. As such Orlando
feels that his role as Justice it to remain completely Neutral in Nephilim
politics. He seeks to work through intervention than force.
These are the Original Laws of Arcanum that Justice seeks to Uphold.
Law of Connexion: All are one.
Orlando interprets this to mean that all sentients have basic rights that
must protected by a common mandate.
Law of Progress: All must progress towards Agartha.
Orlando interprets this to mean that enlightenment is an essential state
of our being and individual's method of enlightenment must be protected.
Law of Five: We are of Five Fields born of One.
Orlando recognises the sanctity of this Law. Abuse of humanity for their
solar ka is not accepted, neither is the use of Black Ka. To indulge in
either is to bring potential excess and destruction.
Law of Duality: As Above, So Below
There is a balance between the divine and the mundane. Nephilim choose
a symbiosis with their host. However they are seperate entities. Our lessons
with the Inquisition and Constantine have taught us what happens when
Nephilim attempt to influence the Mortal world. This law is strictly enforced;
Mortal conflicts and affairs must be resolved through mortal methods,
Nephilim conflicts and affairs must be resolved through Nephilim methods.
Law of Return: For Every Action There is a Proper Reaction
Balance must be maintained. Actions that help others selflessly must be
rewarded, and actions that bring destruction must be visited in return.
For mortals this is lex talionis (eye for an eye), for Nephilim it is
lex augmento (a visitation of three-fold).
Law of Permanence: As it Was, So Shall it Be.
This law is meant to establish the Status Quo, yet with each incarnation
Orlando finds himself questioning this more and more.
Of Late Orlando has added Five More Laws to accomodate the changes in
the modern Society
Law of Serenity: Love is only an Illusion.
Love is a lie as it never leads to Agartha. Love is also a weakness that
gives the Selenium a possible hold over them. Orlando implemented this
rule not only to prevent illicit unions between Mortal and Nephilim (which
has always brought about problems), but so as to prevent the potential
fall of Nephilim from the highly spiritual progress to Agartha into the
mundanity of human carnal desires. Orlando however interprets the strong
affinity between two Nephilim not to be love, but to be a strong and divine
bond. It is mostly a prohibition of erotic love and romantic love between
Nephilim and Mortals.
Law of Rede: Harm None who Have Done no Harm.
Revenge is never a justification for crime. Hatred is never a justification
for crime. What the person may potentially do, or who the potential victims
are does not justify the action of a crime. While this law does imply
that Nephilim cannot pre-emptively attack each other, it is mostly a sanction
against the harm done towards mortals by Nephilim. They are a source of
our life blood through Ka and we must maintain it.
Law of Nobility: Serve no Mortal as your Lord.
This law forbids any Nephilim to take a Mortal as their Master (even their
Host). Each submission of the Nephilim to a mortal takes us away from
Agartha and must not be tolerated. As such a Nephilim may choose to help
a Mortal of their own accord, and are in now way bound to Oaths sworm
to them.
Law of Justice: Protect None from the Code of Justice
As Justice remains neutral there can be no protection from its Law. Those
who would harbour criminals shall share in their crime.
